Day 51: Redwoods giving us greenish envy

Welcome to Redwood territory!  Where the trees are tall and the air is misty -- so ALL OF YOUR PICTURES COME OUT BLURRY

We opted for the classic route, rather than exploring.  Oh, and the tree you can drive through?  Five bucks.  No freakin way.  (Actually, that's not too bad... oops.)

For anyone thinking of doing a Redwoods trip, this is where you'll find some of the best ones

300-plus feet tall, to answer your question.

Still working on getting the camera to average out the brightness of the sky and the trees...

This is I-just-bumped-my-head-on-the-goddamn-tree face.

How big around are redwoods?

That big.

Getting a little better at it...

Luckiest tenth of a mile on the entire trip (unless it happens to stretch out to 88,888.8 miles)

Winter contemplates the futility of east cost living on Route 1

FIFTEEN MINUTE ROAD BLOCK ON THE PCH?!

Worst. Roadblock. View. Ever.  I can't believe we had to sit and look at this for fifteen minutes straight.  Ugh.*
*This is sarcasm.

Eventually we get back on the road and make it to Mendocino for the most beautiful 48 hours of the trip.  For two days, things get really awesome.
