Getting started...

After two weeks of procrastination, welcome to the first post from our four-month marathon trip around the US and into parts of Canada (soon to be followed by the first set of pictures).  Rather than serve as a forum for deep thoughts regarding the significance of each day's events, this "blog" will really be a raw, generally unedited photo journal of the highlights of the trip.  There will be occasional blog posts, while photos will often be blurry and at times captioned -- but only when necessary.  We're constantly on the move, and just don't have time to ruminate, expound, elucidate, or explicate.

Here's a map of the *tentative* itinerary: http://g.co/maps/rzemb.  Generally speaking, we don't know where we're sleeping (hotel, in the car, in the tent) until the prior afternoon, so all dates and locations are subject to change.

Suggestions for places to go and things to see are always welcome, as are companions for any stretch of the trip.  And if you have a bed, or even a roof to sleep under, we'll gladly take it off your hands for a few nights.  Just remember, we have a dog.  She likes tennis balls.

Here's to recklessly quitting your job in the middle of an economic downturn, packing everything into your parents' SUV, and living on the road for a few months...

Welcome to Boomtown, USA.

  3. Go buddy!
Your reckless behaviour during this economic downturn will save some gasoline companies, some insurance companies, carwash and maintenance shops, many motels, lots of restaurants, millions of toll gates and toilets!
DO NOT save any hospital and police office. They are darned bad...
