Day 4: Rhode Island (Newport)
Watch Hill, Rhode Island (I want to go to there)
Fish...
...tacos.
Surprisingly good band.
Newport mansions.
Quite frankly, Winter is shocked at the opulence of the Gilded Age.
Salve Regina University is about 100 yards from the mansions and the water.
Days 2-3: Connecticut
If you don't have a dog, you need one.
See?
This was the last we saw of James Franco.
Stocking up for the first nights of camping...
Unlike the wholesome cereal choices of our generation, todays' cereals are a veritable smorgasbord of vice. Nowadays, cereal is apparently laced with:
Speed.
Weed.
And, worst of all, tooth decay.
Day 1: Departure and Brooklyn
Obligatory portrait shot. Off-the-charts awkwardness.
Destination #1: Quick stop in Brooklyn, NY
To prove that we're really hitting these places, we'll post state signs
every time we enter a new state.
Very, VERY brief stop at my grandparents' old home in Shrewsbury, PA.
The current residents weren't happy we showed up.
Winding through York, Allentown, Bethlehem, and straight across New Jersey...
[New Jersey, no picture available/necessary. Sorry, New Jersey.]
...and into Brooklyn.
We stayed at Pete's place -- thank you, Pete. Pete is Laura's brother.
We found these in the street and named them James Franco -- residing on the streets of Brooklyn and missing several body parts.
This is a picture of Laura in Brooklyn writing a journal entry about being in Brooklyn in a blog post about being in Brooklyn. Very meta.
Unfortunately a very quick 18 hours, but a fitting start to the trip. Off to Connecticut.
